Considering the regular traffic on the way from Indore to other cities of the state, 3 new road projects will take off soon. The projects include a flyover at the busy Rau Circle, Indore-Harda highway and Indore-Burhanpur highway. As per the reports, these new roads will have 4 lanes for better passage of traffic on the way out of the city. The foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted this Sunday in presence of ministers and IDA officials.
According to the officials, the Indore-Burhanpur highway will cost ₹1,163 crores, making it the largest project among other planned road developments. The Indore-Harda highway will make travelling to Nagpur from Indore via Betul easier and will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹1,012 crores. On the other hand, flyover at the Rau Circle will be constructed at a cost of ₹44 crores.
Apart from the projects mentioned above, several other road development plans have been proposed in Indore. They include Tejaji Nagar-Belwada road strengthening and repair and maintenance of service lanes at Indore Bypass road. These two projects will cost ₹31.54 crores and ₹43 crores respectively.
Prior to this, the proposal for 3 flyovers was approved this month. The construction of these flyovers is also aimed at easing traffic congestion at some of the busiest squares in Indore. The intersections where these flyovers will be constructed are Bhawarkuan Square, Phooti Kothi Square and Luvkush Square. Together, these three flyovers will cost ₹225 crores.
