IIM Indore has officially launched its highly anticipated Centre of Excellence for Waste Management and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) – ANVESHAN. It was inaugurated to tackle pressing environmental and cleanliness challenges. ANVESHAN aims to train and empower mayors, councilors, and policy-makers in managing the critical field of Waste Management and WASH. It will focus on enhancing their capabilities and equipping them with the necessary skills to drive significant change in their communities.
Its inaugural batch will commence on July 31, 2023, and consists of municipal commissioners nationwide, highlighting their commitment to cleanliness. Over four days, participants will engage with IIM Indore faculty, and Indore Municipal Corporation officials. ANVESHAN will also conduct training programs for welfare associations, hotels, and hospitals.
ANVESHAN's Core Team will include Prof. Himanshu Rai, director of IIM Indore along with Professors Tewari, Iyer, Vatsa, Sunder, Sinha, N, and Sudhir. Together they will drive behavioral training and provide mentorship to Waste Management authorities and even startups, in coordination with Indore Municipal Corporation. It is a dynamic team committed to ANVESHAN's success.
Moreover, ANVESHAN is housed at IIM Indore, showcasing a state-of-the-art complex equipped with advanced studios, enabling the production of high-quality educational programs, live recordings, and seamless online classes. Additionally, it encompasses a coordinator room, dedicated spaces for interns and working officials, and a lounge cum discussion area, creating an ideal environment for brainstorming and knowledge exchange. It is a monumental step to improve cleanliness and Waste Management in Indore first, and then India.
