Indore and other Tier II cities to soon get dedicated UK Visa centres

Jatin Shewaramani

Due to increased demand among Indians for foreign visas, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic, the government is strategically planning to establish UK Visa centres in various Tier II cities, including Indore.

This initiative is in response to the substantial demand for Indian visitors, particularly those intending to travel to the UK. Notably, between April 2021 and March 2022, a total of 106,000 visit visas were issued in the country.

Indore's Visa Centre to provide application convenience to locals

In response to the escalating demand for travel, VFS Global, a private company with numerous offices throughout India, will establish a temporary centre in Indore. Additional cities slated to receive UK Visa Centers include Prayagraj, Calicut, Thane, Dehradun, and Bhubaneswar.

This strategic expansion is driven by anticipated increased demand for UK visa applications during the current financial year and in the foreseeable future. Consequently, once operational, residents of Indore will no longer need to travel elsewhere for visa applications.
