City to Establish 100-Tonne Capacity Green Waste Plant

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) plans to establish a 100-tonne capacity eco-friendly waste facility using a public-private partnership (PPP) approach for managing the city's green waste. Furthermore, the IMC aims to clear hyacinths from multiple ponds and transform them into compost, which will then be made available for sale to local farmers.

IIT Indore Partners with Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park to Establish Technology Skill Center

In a significant move, IIT Indore has signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park (GSP) in Bhopal and the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB) to create a Center of Excellence (CoE) for advanced technical skill development, innovation, and entrepreneurship at GSP MP.

Empowering Disabled Individuals with Free Competitive Exam Coaching

The district administration and the social justice department are offering free coaching to disabled individuals, helping them prepare for competitive exams such as those for banks, LIC, railways, and IBBS. So far, 80 disabled individuals have received coaching, and 24 of them have successfully secured jobs in various departments and institutions. 40 disabled individuals received retrofitted scooters on Friday to support their education and self-employment endeavors.

Expansion of Indore Metropolitan Region Authority to Include Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar

The Chief Minister, during a recent visit to Indore for the Metro trial run, made a significant announcement about establishing the Metropolitan Region Authority. This development has spurred the swift revival of activities at Vallabh Bhawan, prompting an urgent meeting on its draft scheduled for October 17. This authority will encompass not only Indore but also Ujjain, Dhar, and Dewas. The Chief Minister will serve as the chairman, and a senior officer at the secretary or principal secretary level will be appointed as the CEO to ensure seamless departmental coordination.

Smart ITMS Implemented at 14 Key Traffic Points in the City

The Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) is now operational at 14 critical traffic junctions out of the 50 identified in the city, addressing the growing traffic challenges. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav officially launched the ITMS at Palasia Square, connecting it to the Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC) for enhanced public safety and traffic management. The project aims to improve traffic management, aligning with the goal of making the city the best in traffic management and maintaining its status as the cleanest city in the country.

High Court Issues Notice to State Government over PIL targeting Noise Pollution

A public interest litigation, initiated by Amitabh Upadhyay and Chinmay Mishra, addresses the issue of unchecked noise pollution in the city. The PIL names the Madhya Pradesh Government, the Indore Collector, the Indore Municipal Corporation Commissioner, the Indore Police Commissioner, and the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board as respondents, all of whom have received legal notices. The petition requests the court's intervention to instruct the government and its agencies to promptly remove loudspeakers exceeding standard decibel levels and take legal action against their manufacturers and sellers.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Visits Laxmi Bai Nagar Station, Plans Mahakal Lok-themed Revamp

Following the introduction of the Vande Bharat and the trial run of the Indore Metro, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled plans for the redevelopment of Laxmi Bai Nagar railway station, drawing inspiration from the Mahakal temple theme. The minister also disclosed plans to construct four new railway cargo complexes in the vicinity of Indore city as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojna.
