COVID vaccination drive for Indore frontline workers has raced towards the target at a steady pace. With about 74.7% immunised against the COVID-19 vaccination, the city's administrative officials including the divisional commissioner, collector, additional municipal authority, Zila panchayat CEO, CEO of the development authority, MPIDC MD, additional district magistrate, also got the vaccine to encourage their peers and subordinates to do so, as well.

As per reports, the Indore division in Madhya Pradesh achieved only 41% of the target. This regional area comprises 8 districts, where 12,680 workers were vaccinated at 72 centres. While Indore achieved 50% of the target on Saturday, the best and worst performance, in terms of target fulfilment was achieved by Khandwa at 50.03% and Alirajpur with 23%, respectively.

Presently, COVID infection has been limited to a 0.1% transmission rate. About 73 new infections were identified in Indore in the last 24 hours, taking the active load to 291 patients here. With this spike in cases, after days of sub-50 case identification, the city needs to strengthen its defence against the pandemic in addition to its inoculation programme.
