According to reports, Indore started to witness significant dengue ruse from the first week of August and the tally only scaled higher in September. A total of 225 cases have been reported in the district this year, where around 90% of this load, has accumulated over the past 47 days. As yet, around 125 men, 105 women and 38 children below 15 years are infected by the mosquito-borne ailment.

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bhure Singh Setia said, "People should not allow water logging in or around their homes, not even clean water. Clean water should also be covered as dengue spreads in clean water also. Water should always be covered so that mosquitoes could not leave their larvae in it." He further urged people to take preventive measures to control the spread of the viral disease.

In a bid to curb the rising tally of dengue patients in Madhya Pradesh, the state government had launched the 'Dengue Se Jung Janta Ke Sang' campaign on September 15. The drive includes regular awareness amongst people regarding the disease along with several sanitation checks across all districts. This was also followed by anti-dengue fogging drives in many parts of the state to restrain the rise of the mosquito-borne disease.
