In an attempt to boost Indore's local transport system, an enterprising metro rail project stands proposed for the city. As per the latest developments, the scheme is all set to enter the construction phase with the rolling out of planned interventions next month. Reportedly, this announcement was made by the collector Manish Singh, at a review meeting to assess the progress of the project. He affirmed that all hurdles and impediments will be removed to assure the materialisation of plans.

As per reports, officials from various departments deliberated upon the different lags and problems hampering the project at the aforesaid meeting. While the obstacles in the land acquisition will be resolved soon, it is expected that the construction work will be started in August.
Reportedly, the meeting was marked by the presence of Gautam Singh of Metro Train Corporation Bhopal, IMC commissioner Pratibha Pal, CEO of Indore Development Authority, Vivek Shrotriya, Chief Engineer of Public Works Department. Besides, ADMs Pawan Jain and Abhay Bedekar and SDM and tehsildar of the concerned area were also a part of the discussion.

Previously, the collector had expressed concern over irregular and unsystematic operations at the office of the metro department. After this incident, the corporate office of Metro Train Corporation has started functioning at Apollo Tower in the city and all related officials are working from there.
Project director Simon Farry from Europe also took part in the recent meeting and the collector organised a separate discussion with him. As per reports, the senior official was asked to look after the operations so that the plans are executed efficiently. Once commissioned, Indore Metro will provide an easier & enhanced way of commute to the city folks.
