After observing controlled infection rates in the first three months of 2020, the COVID cases started escalating since the end of March in Indore. While the count of daily detections broke all records on Sunday, it is hard to predict if the chain of infections would break anytime soon. As of now, a cumulative count of 1,01,751 individuals in Indore have been affected by the pandemic and the death toll towers over 1,099, both figures being the highest amongst all districts in the state.

On the positive side, 1,956 recoveries were marked on Sunday which acted towards controlling the number of active patients. Taking cognisance of the present circumstances, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to control the spread of the pandemic. Additionally, the medical and healthcare amenities in the city are being amplified in the city besides increasing the frequency and reach of the COVID immunisation drives.
