The once serene area behind Indore's Brilliant Convention Centre in scheme-113, where saplings were planted during the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas Convention in January, has transformed into a vibrant green garden. Utilizing the Miyawaki method of afforestation and under the careful stewardship of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), the Namo Global Garden has flourished into a lush green haven within just 11 months.
During the convention, guests, including former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, planted around 9,000 saplings of 140 species, turning the garden into a testament of global unity. Garden in-charge Lokesh Sharma highlighted the continuous efforts in maintaining and beautifying the garden, inviting visitors between 6:00 AM to 12 noon and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Each sapling is equipped with a QR code, enabling NRIs to trace the growth of their named plant. Divided into circles with boards displaying contributing countries, the garden stands as a symbol of collaboration, with NRIs from Mauritius, Germany, the UK, Canada, Malaysia, Russia, New Zealand, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Cameroon, and more, contributing to its verdant landscape.
