Indore’s bus network to get a major upgrade with AICTSL’s self-sustainable transport model

Khushboo Ali

Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform its public transport system into a self-sustainable model. CEO Divyank Singh announced a series of innovative measures, including a tender for 200 bus shelters under a Public-Private Partnership, aimed at boosting revenue.

The organisation is streamlining city bus routes to enhance passenger experience and has invited tenders for a system re-engineering consultant. Plans are also underway to revise bus fares and expand advertising opportunities on buses and stations.

In a push towards digitisation, AICTSL is implementing UPI-based ticketing across its fleet. The recent inauguration of the ISBT NayataMundla terminal marks another milestone, providing comprehensive facilities for inter-state travellers.

These strategic moves underscore AICTSL's commitment to modernising Indore's public transport, balancing financial viability with improved service quality.
