The much anticipated Nehru Park revamp project of Indore is now on the verge of its completion. With the addition of an enhanced green cover and new amenities, Indore Smart City Development Limited will likely open gates of the park for the public by January end, 2023.

One of the oldest and the most renowned recreational spot of Indore, Nehru Park is said to be constructed about 50 years ago. With a long toy train track as its main attraction, the park has always been adored by children and adults alike.

What are the new amenities added during the revamp?

To ensure better security, CCTV cameras have been installed in different points of the park. Other than this, different beautification measures have also been taken, which include the addition of a water fountain and enhancing the green cover inside the park.

Additionally, Smart City Limited has changed the location of the entrance gate and the park will now consist of only one entry point. Furthermore, citizens will be required to pay an entry fee of ₹10, however, there will be monthly and annual passes for daily goers. The toy train ride will cost between ₹40-₹50 per person.

Bolstering Indore's Smart City initiative, Nehru Park will serve as an additional amusement centre for the citizens after the reopening.
