Turning the spotlight to light itself, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology in Indore launched a new Light Exploratorium on July 8. Spread over around 630 square metres, this exploratuium is a new ray of hope for all budding physicists in town because it opens many exhibits and models to culture and advance interest in the field of optics. The demonstrations here are versatile and go on to cover subject such as the varying nature of light, its properties, and applications in modern-day science and everyday life.

The RRCAT officials elaborated that the institute is dedicated to the advancement of science, technology, and light. The RRCAT centre is already home to two major sources of light, namely Lasers and Synchrotrons and the new Light Exploratorium in the Sukh Niwas Palace aims to further its field.

As per officials, the rationale of the new installation is in harmony with the objective of the RRCAT. The Light Exploratorium stands as a dedicated centre to augment and nurture scientific temper among young minds, stimulating curiosity and then giving answers.

The Sukh Niwas Palace is a heritage building built on the banks of Bhamori Tank, which is now maintained under the supervision of the Directorate of Archaeology, Archives and Museum, MP Govt., by the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Department of Atomic Energy, Govt of India.
