Madhya Pradesh will soon get its first high speed train with the Indore-Jabalpur Vande Bharat express, which is expected to start operating from April 2023. The new train will traverse between Jabalpur and Indore via Bhopal, thus connecting three important cities in the state.
It must be noted that 10 Vande Bharat trains are already operational in the country, connecting 108 districts across 17 states. The new high-speed train on the Indore-Jabalpur route, once up and running, will become the 11th Vande Bharat express in the country.
These high-speed trains usually boast a top speed of 160 km/h. But the new train connecting Indore and Jabalpur will run at a top speed of 130 km/h, starting from Jabalpur at 5 AM for Indore, stopping at Itarsi, Ujjain and Bhopal on the way before beginning its return journey from Indore at 3 PM.
