A project with a budget of ₹500 crore has been formulated to revamp the renowned Nehru Stadium in Indore. As part of this initiative, Nehru Stadium will be dismantled and transformed into a new sports complex. The Municipal Corporation has completed all the necessary preparations for this ambitious undertaking.

This sports complex, costing around ₹500 crore, will be built under a (Public Private Partnership) PPP Model, financed by constructing a commercial building within the complex. The construction is set to start soon, creating a central sports hub, including the integration of zonal office land.

Incorporating cricket, hockey, and football fields, the sports complex at the revamped Nehru Stadium will also feature an indoor stadium and a swimming pool, offering a recreational space for children. Food outlets will be established within the complex, making it the largest sports complex in the state.

Right now, Nehru Stadium is in a state of disrepair, lacking proper maintenance and suitable playing facilities. The building itself has deteriorated significantly, with several parts being hazardous. Consequently, plans are underway to breathe new life into this stadium, which was originally constructed approximately 60 years ago in 1963.
