The Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company (MP West Discom) has started a full-fledged WhatsApp-based electricity bill issuance service as a part of India's digitalization initiatives in Indore.

This means that the customers will now receive a copy of bills on their registered WhatsApp numbers. The MP West Discom has registered numbers for over 33 lakh customers citywide, with the motive to float this service. In the message, a direct payment link will also be provided along with the bill, redirecting the customers to MP West Discom's payment gateway.

This initiative not only enhances convenience and ensures timely bill generation but also contributes to environmental sustainability by eliminating paper usage.
