Combating all odds, a Father from Goa, has built a robot to feed his disabled daughter.

You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice. This inspirational story is of a father who is ridden by the hardships of life, but decides not to quit. With a bed-ridden wife and a disabled daughter, Kadam, with no engineering degree has built a ‘Maa Robot’ in Goa, to feed his daughter. And guess what, it runs on voice command.

Necessity is the mother of all inventions

Bipin Kadam who is a resident of Bethora village in South Goa, lived with his wife and a 14 years old daughter. He often had to travel back home to feed his daughter and being a daily wage worker, this can have a crushing effect on the pocket. Following which, Kadam spent months studying and researching online and finally built the ‘Maa Robot’. It feeds the girl, who cannot lift her hands, on a voice command specifying what she wants to eat, like vegetable or a dal-rice mix.

His story - Our motivation

The Goa State Innovation Council has lauded Bipin Kadam for his innovation, the 'Maa Robot', and is also providing him financial support to further explore its commercial viability.

An akin scalable product will soon be available in the market for people facing similar problem. The price is yet to be evaluated commercially.
