To make road travel easier, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Company (MPRDC) has planned to construct 4 flyovers in Indore city this year. Construction of flyovers will take place in those areas that undergo heavy traffic - IT Park Square, Satya Sai Square, Dewas Naka Square and Musakhedi Square. As a result of this, one can expect fewer traffic issues in these areas after the construction.

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) have been given the contract to make the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project. This is expected to be ready by March, after which the work will begin.

Construction of more flyovers being planned across the state

Proposals for flyovers in IT Park Square, Satya Sai Square, Dewas Naka Square and Musakhedi Square have been approved whereas the fifth flyover in Marimata Square is yet to be approved. According to information, all of the proposed flyovers will reportedly be longer than 600 metres and cost roughly around Rs 30 crore each.

Under the Setu Bandhan Pariyojana, a total of 21 flyovers have been suggested for the state. In addition to Indore, flyovers will be built in a number of additional cities, including Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Gwalior. This apparently is good news as it'll be an addition to the infrastructure and development of the state and not only this but a better understanding of the traffic and connectivity, which would help the city folks save a lot of time and resources.

Construction work at some places has begun

Grijesh Sharma, general manager, MPRDC said that they are only in the DPR-making process and that there are several other phases before finalising the cost of the flyover. He also mentioned that some cities in the state have already begun the process of building flyovers.
