Since the last week, the coronavirus infection is spreading across Jaipur and other districts of Rajasthan with a regained ferocity of 3.2%. This, consequently, has resulted in an increased positivity ratio with 20,939 detections in the course of one week (April 21 to April 28) raising alarms across the state. This has added to the burdens of the city hospitals and other treatment facilities which are already overwhelmed with the 29% active ratio.
Several areas in Jaipur such as Jhotwara, Malviya Nagar, Mansarovar among others, are reporting cluster cases, hinting at scenarios of community transmission and increased contact. At this juncture, it is very essential to follow all COVID guidelines and protocols while adhering to pandemic-appropriate protocols. Those eligible to get the vaccine must get their jab, without any further hesitancy or delay.
On Wednesday, about 24,984 vaccinations were administered in Jaipur, raising the target achievement tally to 12, 51,846 jabs. As of May 1, the Pink City will also kickstart phase 3 of the coronavirus inoculation programme, aimed at people aged 18 to 45 years; i.e, from Saturday, vaccination will be open to all adults and registrations of the same can be made on the Co-WIN app or portal. The expanded scope of the immunity drive will help to foster an increased immunogenic response, boosting the overall defence against the pandemic in Jaipur and across.
