Diwali turns Jaipur pale as city witnesses ​a 30% rise in bed occupancy of covid-19 cases

Jaipur witnessed a 30% surge in the occupancy of beds at the city's dedicated covid-19 hospitals. The reason behind this is mainly the Diwali season and other festivities gripping the Pink City. In the last 12 days, 514 patients have been admitted to 46 covid hospitals in the city and now, Jaipur's top private and corporate hospitals are running short of beds with the sudden rise in cases.

A rise of 42% in the occupancy rates of beds with oxygen support

Around 811 patients are occupying beds with oxygen support as of now, in contrast to 570 covid-19 victims on November 5. The city saw a rise of 42% in the occupancy rates of beds with oxygen support. According to a senior health official, there is no shortage of beds and other facilities for corona patients in the city.

Surge in occupancy of ICU beds from 56% to 63%

In covid-19 hospitals, the occupancy percentage of ICU beds escalated from 56% on November 5 to 63% on Wednesday. Patients are having a tough time in finding beds of their choice as most of the top hospitals are running in full capacity. 8 corporate and private hospitals did not have bed reserved for Covid-19 patients. The city currently has 40,514 confirmed cases, 6693 active cases and 33,419 recoveries. It's high time, that people in the city follow social distancing, avoid crowded places and wear masks.

Talking about the current conditions of the state

The state is currently in a fix with 2,32,358 confirmed cases and 2,10,779 recovered cases .The festive season has been the main reason behind the sudden surge with 2178 new cases of Covid-19 in Rajasthan. People need to understand the need of the hour and abide by the rules and regulations, set by the state government.
