The introduction of the electric rail system has strengthened Jaipur's connectivity to central and southern parts of India. As per reports, it is expected that the inception of this facility will ease and enhance the routes from Jaipur to Pune, Indore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Mumbai and other prominent cities. Reportedly, the first electric engine train deployed on the tracks of North Western Railways between Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur reached the pick city on Monday.

According to reports, Train No. 02939 Pune Jaipur Superfast is the first train with an electric engine to be deployed on this route. Further, reports state that the train ran at a high speed of 110 Km/hr and the Zonal Manager for the Jaipur region informed that the first run of the train was completed successfully. Now, the authorities are aiming to introduce a fleet of nearly 20 electric trains on the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur tracks.
In addition to this, reports state that the authorities are working on plans to equip about 50 trains with electric engines. Given a list of benefits expected from electrification, the management is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the streamlined execution of plans.

It is noteworthy that CRS approved the tracks between Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur on July 30. Soon after this, an electric goods train was deployed on the route. As per reports, more than ₹140 crores have been spent on the execution of the electrification project. It is estimated that electric engines are 25% more efficient for goods trains, economically while the same figure stands at 40% for passenger trains.
