Jaipur to get an additional 5 crore litres of water supply for Holi tomorrow!

On average, Jaipur requires around 5.8 crore litres of water on a daily basis

To ensure Jaipur dwellers do not miss out on Holi celebrations, the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) has allocated additional 5 crore litres of Bilaspur water to the city for Friday. On average, Jaipur requires 5.8 crore litres of water every day. As per the officials, the regular supply will continue as per the usual routine while the extra supply will be provided through tankers.

Move to cost ₹3.45 crores

Reportedly, the Walled City area will receive water after the regular daytime schedule. With a budget of ₹3.45 crores, this move is aimed to make sure people get to enjoy the festival without worrying about the water supply.

In addition to this, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, Greater and Heritage have directed all the sanitation workers in the Pink City to clean the city after Holika Dahan. The civic body has also instructed hoopers to take more rounds in the city than usual, especially in the prominent areas.

Meanwhile, in view of the Swacch Survekshan 2022, JMC-Heritage has decided to do away with all the open garbage depots in the Walled City. Around 125 such depots have been turned garbage-free in the city as of March 16. The civic body of the city has deployed a corporation employee at the garbage deposit site to make sure people discard the waste during the garbage door-to-door collection drive. All these measures are aimed to improve the city's ranking in the annual cleanliness survey.
