The construction of the Phase-II route would cost approximately Rs 4,540 crores and the upcoming corridor would range from India Gate to Ambabari, with 21 elevated stations along the course.
The corridor will be linking different regions like Sitapura Industrial Area, Shatabdi Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, Sitabari, Bapu Nagar, Rambagh, C Scheme, Chandpole, Bani Park, Sirampura, Ambabari, SMS Hospital, Apollo Spectra, Zanana, Jaipur International Airport, amidst others. This would ensure extensive accessibility and primetime traffic relief as well.
Reportedly, this passage has been revised to reroute the corridor from MI Road, after a decision was taken to construct the corridor above ground level. This would also help them JMC to keep the project costs from being hiked. Further, keeping in mind the ample of heritage structures around places likes MI Road and Ajmeri Gate, the JMRC has diverted the corridor towards Ashok Marg, eventually connecting to Maharani's College and SMS Hospital, on Tonk Road.
This project will be relieving the city roads from congestion and as per estimates, the ridership of Phase-II would be way over 2,00,000 by 2031. In a detailed project report back in 2014, it was mentioned that this project required land worth Rs 875 crores (as per reports) and construction cost was pegged at Rs 9,500 crores. But later, the officials made efforts to reduce the high costs.
