In a bid to boost air connectivity across India, a short-shuttle direct flight is set to link Jaipur and Vadodara, starting today. An Indigo Airline service will fly between the two cities, easing air travel for regular passengers on this route. With a running time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, the aircraft will be able to ferry about 72 passengers in one trip.

Air travel in the Jaipur-Vadodara-Jaipur sector is set to scale with the commissioning of a new direct flight between the two cities. This service is notably the fifth direct flight from Vadodara, in addition to the flights that run to Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Overall, the Jaipur flight will be the eighth daily service that will hit the Vadodara runway, from March 1.
The Indigo service will operate via an ATR-72-500 aircraft, departing from Jaipur at 12:40 PM each day. The flight will terminate at 2:25 PM at Vadodara Airport. The return flight will depart from Vadodara on the same day at 3:10 PM, to complete the trip at 4:50 PM in Jaipur.

The new flight will be help passengers travelling frequently between Jaipur and Vadodara, opening a faster means of commute between the two cities. At present, the train route takes somewhere around 11 to 14 hours to shuttle between Jaipur and Vadodara and around 13 hours and 10 minutes by roadways. With the flight operations, the journey time will be cut down, effectively to less than 2 hours, saving flyers time.
