In a bid to promote travellers to opt for Rajasthan Roadways Volvo services, the Roadways Administration has reduced the travel fare on the Jaipur-Delhi route by ₹200! Commuters can now travel in luxury with a ticket that costs ₹700, instead of the previous ₹900. This concession will improve the declining passenger load on this route, revitalising the revenue of the State Roadways.

The Managing Director of the Rajasthan Roadways said that the new reduced ticket fare will be applicable from November 23 till December 31. After the termination of the time period, RSTRC will review the passenger load. Increase in the passenger count will result in the extension of the policy further.

The RSRTC was compelled to reduce the ticket fare due to the availability of cheaper options for travel along the Jaipur-Delhi route. Currently, many private companies are operating premium luxury buses on the same course, at fares that range between ₹500 to ₹700 only. Besides, the ticket of the Jaipur to Delhi double-decker train costs only about ₹600. Due to these alternative travel sources, the state bus services were not getting the desired passenger load.

According to the data revealed by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, about 50% of all the 5 state services run empty. The roadways administration now expects the passenger count to increase as the fare has been reduced. In view of this, the RSRTC has decided to increase the number of buses to 9 per day in the coming days.
