As the number of Omicron cases are on a rise, the authorities are concerned about the spread of the variant. As per the new guidelines, travellers who have administered the first dose of the COVID vaccine will be allowed to enter the state. They won’t need a negative RT-PCR report nor would they be put in quarantine. Passengers who haven’t had the first jab of the vaccine will be required to show a negative RT-PCR report of the last 24 hours. Else, they would be quarantined as per rules.

For international travellers, if any passenger tests positive their samples would be further sent to ascertain whether they have the new variant or not. Thermal screening and oxygen saturation tests are mandatory for all passengers.

No Mask-No Movement rule enforced across Rajasthan

Surveillance has been intensified across the state. A ‘no mask, no movement’ rule is in place. Of the nine people who have tested positive for the new variant, four belonged to the same family, and they returned from South Africa. They have been admitted to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). The swab samples from all nine people have been collected and sent to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital for genome sequencing. The other five were their acquaintances. They have been home quarantined.
