The COVID-19 infection graph in Jaipur is shaping into another peak despite the continuous efforts of the municipal authorities of both Heritage and Greater corporations. About 658 new infections were reported here in a single day, taking the total tally up to 64,896 and an active caseload of 4,087, reportedly the highest in the state. Special teams are now deployed within municipal limits to take strict action against violators of COVID-19, seal enterprises and institutes to gate the flooding rise in cases due to the second wave of infection.

There are about 500 special task forces currently deployed in Jaipur, consisting of municipal, administration and police officials. These teams are tasked to ensure the enforcement of COVID-19 norms and penalise those who flout them. As a result, several shops and business establishments have been sealed for disregarding preventive protocols such as not wearing a mask and/or not maintaining social distancing. These joint enforcement teams are also conducting random checks, across the city to ensure compliance with the guidelines.
As per reports, a coaching centre in Malviya Nagar was sealed on Thursday after over 100 students were found studying in the same hall. Besides this, two business establishments and a hotel in Mansarovar along with a vegetable market at Hawamahal Amer was also shut close for flouting COVID-19 norms.
COVID tallies in Rajasthan surged by 3,526 new cases on Thursday, taking aggregate confirmed case tally to 3,50, 317. At present, there are as many as 21,132 active cases here. The death toll climbed to 2,886 with 20 more fatalities, according to an official report. State capital Jaipur has been the biggest contributor to all these tallies, emerging as the worst-hit district. All people are advised to follow public protocols to prevent virus contraction and help the health and task officials here to eliminate the COVID threat.
