In view of the rising COVID cases, the upcoming Jaipur Literature Festival has been postponed to March 5-14 now, informed the show organisers on Friday. Notably, after garnering over one crore views last year in virtual format, the 15th edition of this annual festival is set to be rolled out in a hybrid model. Pegged to be the greatest literary show, this annual festival will host about 250 authors, thinkers, politicians and popular culture icons from all across the globe.

Apart from the change in format, the organisers have also shifted the venue this year in order to accommodate the expected footfall while following all the COVID safety protocols. While Diggi Palace was famous for being the traditional venue of JLF, this year, the event will be held at Hotel Clarks Amber, Jaipur, instead.
While the on-ground version of this glorious feast of literature, discourse and camaraderie was scheduled to take place between January 28 to February 1, 2022, its online version was supposed to continue till February 6, earlier. According to the organisers of JLF, the 10-day event will mark its nifty virtual presence from March 5 to March 9 whereas the offline program will be hosted from March 10 to March 14.
Talking about this move, the festival producer Sanjoy K Roy said, “Keeping in mind the advent of the new variant and the sharp rise in the number of cases across the country, we have thought it best to reschedule the Festival and hold it in March 2022. We remain committed to bring the Festival back to Jaipur as an on-ground, immersive experience, promoting dialogue, discussion and debate on books and ideas".
