JMC to set up flood control rooms across Jaipur ahead of the rainy season

In view of the heavy rain forecast by IMD, civic bodies are set to launch flood control rooms across Jaipur!

In view of the upcoming monsoon season, civic bodies in Jaipur are ready to launch flood control rooms across the city. Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects rainy season to kick in by June 25 in Rajasthan. As per the directives issued by the JMC-Heritage Commissioner, these flood control rooms in Jaipur will be ready by June 15.

Ensuring better public service during monsoon!

According to the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon is set to arrive in Rajasthan by June 25. This year, the state is expected to receive 6-8% more rainfall than the average measure. This has led to the setting up of flood control rooms in the Pink City.

With the help of these control rooms, the administration aims to ensure people get all the necessary help during the monsoon. Moreover, these centres will also help in reducing the possibility of floods during the rainy season.

Flood control centres to facilitate public safety

As per the announcement, flood control centres will be opened in fire stations of Ghat Gate, Amber and Banipark under JMC-Heritage. Similarly, several flood control centres will be opened in several areas under Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation.

Additionally, to make sure people in Jaipur do not face any problem, all the necessary preparation ahead of the anticipated floods in Jaipur are in place. As per the official announcement, shelter sites will be identified, restoration of resources and sandbags will be conducted, tractors, dumpers, JCBs, Mud pumps will be arranged, ensuring a safe passage.
