Century-old McRobert Hospital in Kanpur to be revamped into a super specialty facility

An MoU was signed between the CEO of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and UP govt. pertaining to the redevelopment of the hospital.

Ever since the acquisition of the Georgina McRobert Memorial Hospital back in 2021, the UP government has had ambitious plans for transforming the facility into a super speciality.

The plan for the same has now gained thrust as the administration is planning to make significant infrastructural developments for upgrading the McRobert Hospital into a super speciality medical facility. This will be done under a PPP model. For this, an MoU was also been signed with the CEO of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Santosh Shetty during the UPGIS.

Redevelopment work of the hospital is set to kick off soon

Pertaining to the same, a team of representatives from the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital also visited the facility on February 21, Tuesday and the redevelopment work is set to kick off soon.

Spanning over an area of 32,000 square the Georgina McRoberts Memorial Hospital is centred in the Civil Lines area of Kanpur city and was constructed 107 years ago, during the British era.

Now, the entire facility will be utilized to provide impetus for healthcare framework of the city and nearby areas.
