What can one do from scrap tyres collected by a city's municipality? Here's what Kanpur Nagar Nigam did in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. They crafted animal sculptures out of recycled scrap rubber tyres that are on display at Kargil Park in Motijheel, known as the "Animal Kingdom from Scrap Tyres." From a majestic lion to an elegant leaping horse, the place is an eye-pleasing example of innovation.

An initiative to reduce carbon emissions

When scrap and unusable tyres are burnt, the resulting carbon emissions pollute the air, further worsening the country's already deteriorating air quality. In view of these emissions and their effect on the environment, Kanpur Nagar Nigam's initiative to build an "Animal Kingdom from Scrap Tyres" is a welcome step towards saving the environment and gifting a healthier planet to future generations.

This unique animal kingdom also features a life size elephant, a chimpanzee, along with swings for kids, making it a great option for a family outing on a pleasant, sunny day. And amidst these beautifully crafted sculptures is a message painted in black on a yellow board that says "Don't burn tyres", further emphasizing the core message behind this noble initiative.

So, if you're anywhere near Kanpur, don't miss out on these unique specimens of sculpting born out of the amalgamation of innovation and a commitment to environment conservation.
