After its significant role in the 1999 Kargil War, IAF cargo carrier C-17 Globemaster, has now been engaged to fight the COVID-19 battle in Kanpur. The cargo aircraft has relayed oxygen support from France to India, in the form of a modern oxygen generating plant. This will be soon installed at Kanpur's Seven Airforce Hospital with the help of technicians from France.
As per reports, the cargo flight first landed at the Hindon Base in Ghaziabad and then charted its journey towards Kanpur. This aid will ease the availability of liquid medical oxygen for coronavirus patients and has been recognised as a notable provision. It will bolster the treatment procedures, boosting recovery in Kanpur amid the quick progression of the virus threat. So far, around 82,154 COVID infections have been logged in at Kanpur and about 912 of these continue to receive active treatment.
