The first corridor of Kanpur Metro, spanning from IIT to Naubasta, is nearing completion with final-stage work underway in the last section. In response to this progress, the initiation of work on the second corridor, linking Chandrashekhar Azad (CSA) University of Agriculture to Barra 8, has been announced.
Currently in the pre-construction phase, key tasks are being addressed. Notably, companies associated with UPMRC have conducted excavations near CSA and the Vijaynagar intersection for soil testing. Simultaneously, trenching work has commenced at the eight designated stations along this route.
Following these preliminary steps, plans for utility shifting are in progress. The locations for metro pillars in the second corridor have already been identified. The comprehensive project aims to establish eight stations from CSA to Barra 8. The targeted timeline for completing the entire second corridor is within two years.
