Medical and health infrastructure in Kanpur is set to strengthen with a new combined hospital at the Maurang Mandi, Kidwai Nagar, highlighted reports. The new provision is expected to cost around ₹45 crores and the state has cleared the first instalment of ₹6 crores for the same.
The state has clarified that the hospital project in Kanpur will be implemented only after the environmental clearance. Construction will begin once the concerned authorities green flag the project.
Similarly, 100-bed joint hospital is also lined up in Gautam Budh Nagar's Jewar, to be built at a cost of ₹45 crores. For this also, a ₹6 crore instalment has been sanctioned. Reportedly, a 33 KVA electric feeder will be installed here. A separate budget of ₹1.24 crores has been pipelined for the scheme.
Meanwhile, designated development authorities are also awaiting the budget approval for the Amethi district hospital upgrade. According to the plan, this health facility will be ramped up to a government medical college. Reportedly, a ₹20 crore budget has been presented for administrative and financial approval.
Once fully complete, all projects will streamline the availability of state-of-the-art health and medical aid across Uttar Pradesh. The move is set to strengthen the state's defence against the backdrop of the COVID pandemic and the looming 'third wave' threat.
