Kanpur University to set up cyber security task force to tackle increasing threat of cybercrime

The University will collaborate with IIT Kanpur to set up the new task force.

Amid the growing threat of cybercrime in India, with weekly attacks on organizations increasing by 18% in the first quarter of 2023, Kanpur University will set up a cyber security task force. The university will collaborate with IIT Kanpur to launch a skilling programme where students will get to learn all the tricks of the trade.

The program will also be available online

The 8-week long joint cyber security programme started by Kanpur University and IIT Kanpur will also be available online while students can also take the entire course in Hindi, as well. The said programme will equip students with necessary skills in advance cyber security systems in order to ensure they can form a solid cyber security task force once the programme culminates.

Fee relaxations to encourage women to come to the fore

It is noteworthy that SC/ST students will be charged no fees for the said cyber security skilling programme. Furthermore, focus is also on encouraging women to join the course with girls belonging from General and OBC categories also given 50% fees concession for joining the course. They will only have to pay ₹1000 to take the course.
