In a bid to offer ease to commuters and reduce the load on Kanpur's Jhakarkatti bus stand, Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has constructed a new bus station in the Vikas Nagar area. The new facility is expected to become operational July 4 onwards. This will be the third bus stand in the city after Jhakkarkati and Chunniganj bus stations.

As per the reports, these signature city bus stands are built in a way to accomodate and run over 350 buses in a day, offering both intra-state as well as inter-state connectivity. At present, Kanpur has two major bus stands which witness heavyfootfalls that result in overcrowding. The new bus station will hence help share load, making matters more convenient for the commuters too.
