IIT Kanpur's Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) has been given the responsibility to set up four agri-business incubators across UP. The decision was taken by the state's agricultural research and education department at the Uttar Pradesh Krishi Prayogiki Manthan organized at IIT-K last week.

Now, the SIIC will collaborate with agricultural universities in the state and aid them in setting up such incubation centers. These centers will, in turn, boost the state's agricultural sector by giving birth to innovative startups in the field.

At the aforementioned workshop, experts from IIT Kanpur's incubation center shed light on several important factors in setting up such centers. These included vital establishment factors, operational aspects, the need for collaboration among educational and research institutes, and strategic planning for the same.
