Winter chills, along with a dense layer of fog, have enveloped Kanpur in a tight grip, in turn causing numerous issues for localites. While driving on roads has become a hassle due to fog impairing visibility, issues in train and flight movement are leading to general inconvenience.
Even as day temperatures touch 14-15°C and night temperatures hit 7-10°C, the numbers are likely to drop further in the following days. At the same time, AQI has crossed 300 and is hovering around the 'dangerous' category, which can be hazardous for health. Moreover, one can expect light rain as well as thunderstorm and wind gusts to continue in the coming days.
"While I love winters and rejoice in the cold, trains running late and general fog blocking vision are definitely are problem," quoted a resident in Kanpur.
