Jatin Shewaramani

The National Health Authority (NHA) recently partnered with IIT Kanpur to develop digital public goods aimed at advancing Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. As part of this collaboration, IIT Kanpur will work on creating a federated learning platform to support various machine learning models, a high-quality database, an open benchmarking system to validate AI models, and a consent management system.

These initiatives align with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Leveraging the data available under the ABDM, this collaboration will establish a public benchmark for AI models, enabling accurate quantification and diagnosis of diseases.

Once developed, the platform will be managed by the NHA, unlocking AI’s potential to significantly improve healthcare delivery, according to a statement from the Union Health Ministry.
