In a bid to alleviate the burden of Kanpur citizens caused by the tedious process of issuing erroneous traffic e-challans, DCP Traffic in Kanpur, Raveena Tyagi, has taken the initiative to set up a special cell to scrutinize the challans issued by traffic inspectors and sub-inspectors.

The previous Saturday, this special cell scrutinized 4017 challans, out of which 70 were found to be incorrect. Consequently, all the wrong challans have been cancelled and the vehicle owners have received a notification of the cancellation on their registered mobile numbers.

Notably, 8 individuals have been appointed for the new cell, who will work in shifts to carry out this task. In addition, to oversee the operation of this system, the traffic department has established a monitoring desk within the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS).
