The construction work of the much awaited civil airport terminal of the Kanpur Airport is almost nearing completion with UPRNN pacing up to finish the pending work on the interiors of the Airport complex building. To oversee the progress Kanpur District Commissioner, Dr Rajshekhar will also visit the new airport facility for the inspection of the site on January 10 for reviewing the progress.
Reportedly, UPRNN is awaiting approval from the Airforce authorities for the expansion work of the taxi link way at the airport which can expectedly result to hinder the completion of the project.
On the contrary, UPRNN has already applied for obtaining multiple safety-related NOCs. The airport facility will be handed over to the Airport Authority of India (AAI) for further testing and examination procedures after all the construction and documentation work is completed.
Furthermore, the construction of a 4-lane connecting road from the Rooma Highway of Kanpur to the Airport is also underway and is expected to be completed by March 31.
