In view of the ongoing COVID pandemic, two respective lists of doctors for free teleconsultation services have been released by the Kanpur Nursing Home and Hospital Association and Indian Medical Association, Kanpur chapter. Launched with an aim to support COVID-infected patients and those suffering from other ailments, this welfare project aggregates a large count of medical specialists for assuring telephonic advice at any time of the day!
Due to a rapid increase in the count of severe patients, the healthcare infrastructure of the city is facing a cumbersome situation. While the requirements are increasing every day, the medical staff and resources are falling short of the current needs. Given these circumstances, this initiative for free teleconsultation services, will guarantee assistance to COVID and non-COVID patients unable to get appointments with the concerned medical practitioners.
It is to be noted that the facility by IMA Kanpur is being provided till May 2. Further, the notice released by the organisation includes a comprehensive schedule, detailing the time slots for which the doctors will be available. The beneficiaries have been requested to adhere to the stated time frames for contacting the various health specialists.

On Friday, 1,873 new COVID cases were registered in Kanpur and the tally of active cases shot up to 17,856. While 2,015 recoveries were recorded in the city on Friday, 19 individuals succumbed to the deadly virus.
