Lying approximately 390 kms from both Kanpur and Lucknow, amidst lush greenery, dense forests and tranquil waterfalls, the Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary is one panoramic paradise.

The scenic sanctuary is a significant spot on the tourism map of Uttar Pradesh, owing to its wide variety of wildlife dotting the landscape and the glistening Chandraprabha River flowing through the sanctuary. Situated in UP's Chandauli district and a part of Kashi Wildlife Division, the place is a much-needed getaway spot from the city's humdrum, and is ideal as a weekend getaway spot.

Connect to the primitive rhyme & rhythm

Covering an area of 78 sq kms in the vastness of the Vindhya mountains, the forest of the Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary was named after the Chandraprabha river here.

Besides wild animals like the blackbucks, chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boars, porcupine and chinkara, reptiles like gharial and python, the sanctuary is also often seen as a haven for bird watchers with some 150 different bird species.

The forest also shelters indigenous tribes here, who live an unsullied life and practise a lifestyle close to human roots. Thus, witnessing the native forms of music and dance here, in the natural glow and prime, tend to let the visitor unwind, relax, and connect to the primitive rhyme and rhythm.

Moreover, the sanctuary offers scope for hiking, staying here with accommodations nearby, touring the forest village, and so on.
