IIT Kanpur's business incubator Startup Incubation & Innovation Centre (SIIC) and Indian Angel Network (IAN) have joined hands to launch an 'IAN-IIT Kanpur Future Tech Accelerator Program'.

The 4-6 month-long structured programme, that kicked off on January 16, has shortlisted eight worthy startups in the first peg. Through the same, it is slated to lend mentor support, investor and industry connections, refinement of pitch decks for fundraising, access to advanced technology, and funding up to ₹30 crores.

Accelerating startups into successful business models

IAN and SIIC will work closely to harness fresh indigenous startups, providing a nurturing platform that could potentially accelerate the selected startups into successful business models, with the aid of the prorgramme.

"This programme is designed to help startups understand their target market, shape their product better, improve their storytelling ability for investors, and ultimately raise money up to Rs 30 crore. In our maiden cohort, the accelerator will be working with eight companies from sectors ranging from health tech to social impact," Rajnish Kapur, Managing Partner of IAN Fund, explained.

This partnership between a leading technical institute and a renowned angel investment network is expected to fortify the national startup ecosystem.
