Mapping through several cities in Uttar Pradesh, the New Delhi-Varanasi bound bullet-train is all set to offer high-speed connectivity and ease of travel in Uttar Pradesh. Plying through the elevated corridor, the train will connect New Delhi to the proposed airport at Jewar in Gautumbudha Nagar. Plans suggest that this train will follow a different route than the New Delhi-Howrah track.
The development and aerial inspection of this new 800 km route fall under the authority of National Highspeed Railway Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which will submit the survey reports to the Railway board in a few weeks, an NHSRCL spokesperson stated. Meanwhile, plans are also underway to build a railway bridge over the Ganges River, ahead of Bithoor to create a corridor facilitating better connectivity.
The new route will connect major cities like Noida, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Varanasi and Ayodhya, bringing them virtually closer via the high-speed carriage. From Kanpur, it will connect Bilhaur to Lucknow via Unnao's Bangarmau. Plans are underway to build a railway bridge over the Ganges River, ahead of Bithoor.
