Boosting ultrafast connectivity, Reliance launches Jio 5G services in select areas of Lucknow

Reliance Jio on Wednesday kicked off True 5G services in 11 cities across various states in India.

After Airtel, now Reliance Jio has also launched its True 5G services in Lucknow. The telecom giant kickstarted its 5G services in the city as a part of its multi-state launch on Wednesday. With this, the services have been enabled in 10 other cities of across various states.

Jio's True 5G services presently are being rolled out in a phased manner, which means that the ultrafast networking services will only be operational in selected areas of Lucknow. These include KGMU, SGPGI, Hazratganj, Gomti Nagar, Aliganj, Vikas Nagar, Aminabad, Alambagh, Rajajipuram, Aishbagh, Jankipuram and also in some areas along the Shaheed Path.

Readers should note that Jio 5G will only work on supported devices.

Steps to enable Jio 5G services of your device

Reportedly, the company will gradually expand its True 5G service availability in more areas of Lucknow. Furthermore, these services will also be made available in 100 other locations in the state.

With this launch Jio users of the city will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, to experience unlimited data at up to 1 Gbps+ speeds, at no additional cost/at the same cost as 4G plans until the rollout is more widespread.

Users aren't required to change/upgrade SIM cards for using Jio's 5G services. Just simply follow these steps to enable the services on your 5G supported device:

  • Click on the Settings option

  • Click on the SIM card and mobile networks

  • Click on the Preferred network type

  • Select the 'Prefer 5G' or '5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto)' option

  • Enjoy high-speed networking services on the go

More about Jio's True 5G roll out

Alongside Lucknow, Jio rolled out its True 5G services in 10 other cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Mysuru, Nashik, Aurangabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar and Dera Bassi, this Wednesday. Earlier this week, Jio also launched these services in parts of Andhra Pradesh.
