In a bid to enhance convenience for power consumers in the state, UP Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL), is set to introduce simplified bill payment services. Consumers will soon have the option to pay their bills at authorized grocery stores, cyber cafes, fair price shops, and through individuals enlisted by private agencies.

The UPPCL has partnered with multiple private firms to facilitate bill payments through local vendors, eliminating the need to visit electricity department substations. Approximately 1,10,500 agents will be engaged in this initiative, improving billing and revenue collection, particularly in rural areas where power bill collection has historically been challenging.
