After the Kanpur police authorities decided to establish L1 and L2 COVID hospitals for their staff, in all districts under their supervision, the Uttar Pradesh Police has called for similar facilities all across the state. Through this initiative, the workforce of the state's police departments stands assured with amplified healthcare facilities in the current vulnerable times. Given their active involvement in the fight against COVID, this intervention was definitely the need of the hour!
Through his Twitter account, the CM remarked that the police officers require more initiatives for their health, safety and well-being. In regards to this, the Home Department and the Health Department have been asked to look after the establishment of COVID hospitals in police lines of all districts of the state. The CM added that the facilities will have COVID aid centres and isolation wards for infected individuals.
Reportedly, the police department has sufficient infrastructure for these facilities but it requires medical professionals to start related operations. Once the help from the trained staff is received, the centres can be quickly started to accommodate patients.
Right amidst the expanding cover of COVID infections, a humongous count of police officers were stationed at different regions in the state for a safe and successful process of panchayat elections. Due to this, a number of them might have fallen prey to the contagion and they would require immediate medical help in the future. Keeping this and other things in view, the current project has been initiated.
