With the 'Eat Right Carnival' scheduled to start from December 5 at Gomti Riverfront, the citizens of Lucknow now have a chance to learn about safe and healthy food diets while tasting the diverse range of food from Uttar Pradesh. Apart from stalls offering various delicacies, this carnival will also house kiosks selling various One District One Product (ODOP). Reportedly, this week-long celebration of food will conclude on December 11.

At the upcoming carnival, visitors will not only get to relish good food but also enjoy various cultural and other events that are scheduled every day in this week-long festival. As per reports, the carnival will be kickstarted with an early morning walkathon. While the program will begin each day with various yoga, aerobics and similar sessions in the morning, the evenings will include fun events like ghazal night, poetry conferences and other musical events. Additionally, special arrangements like an entertainment zone will be made for women and children in the food festival.
When here, you'll get to take suggestions regarding food from doctors and experts of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and King George's Medical University. Apart from this a dedicated camp of dieticians will also be set up at the fair for the public.

According to the reports, around 80 stalls are expected to be set up at the fair out of which 50 are likely to offer food items while the others will cater to the other needs. According to the officials, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will also impart cleanliness lessons to the food vendors at the festival. Street vendors at this fest will also be given modern carts, that will enhance the look of their setup and will eventually help them garner more eyeballs, apart from adding convenience to their lives. The FSSI will also provide similar modern carts to the street vendors of the famous vending areas of Lucknow, helping them in increasing the appeal of their business. These modern carts are said to be equipped with dustbins with solar systems and other modern facilities.

Eat Right Mela is an infotainment model of a street food festival to engage, excite and enable citizens to make the right food choices. Launched by FSSAI in 2018, this annual carnival provides an opportunity to learn about safe food and healthy diets, including quick tests for adulterants, health and nutrition benefits of food, dietary advice by experts.
