It has been stated that sufficient medical professionals including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be positioned at the facility. Additionally, the clinic will have all necessary resources like Covid diagnostic kits, oximeters and other devices which aid in an early diagnosis of the COVID infection. Under the second phase of the project, isolation beds will also be set up at the charitable clinic and the centre will operate as a primary facility for quarantining COVID patients.
According to Maulana Saif Abbas, "The idea came from the experience during the second wave of coronavirus pandemic that hit the city in April-May. People, especially those from the minority community, are afraid of going to hospitals and ignore symptoms initially. By the time they are taken to the hospital, the disease reaches severe stage."
As per the officials, the academic activities will run in parallel to the operations of the clinic. While the clinic will be established at the ground floor, the first floor will be used for educational purposes.
During the second wave of the pandemic, the city was faced with multiple problems like the dwindling count of beds and other resources. This prompted the authorities to convert the Madrasa into the COVID clinic so that the patients can be benefitted. It has been stated that individuals experiencing symptoms can visit the centre and get themselves checked.
