The hueful Uttarakhand Mahotsav is back in all its glory to the city of Nawabs with 10 days of cultural performances, exhibition of artefacts, implementation of activities, and more! Going on till November 18, the rich culture of Uttarakhand can be experienced in every vivacious nook and corner here.
You might always turn to the beautiful state for your occasional (or frequent) visits (read: escapes) to the 'pahaads', but there's so much more to Uttarakhand that makes its Pahadi culture as vibrant as it is. We're talking delicious food (that have zero complex spices, btw), lively folk dances, and ebullient festivals. This Devbhumi or the 'Land of the Gods' with scenic mountains and breathtaking rivers, has a huge contribution to add to the cultural bouquet of Northern India!
More than 200 vibrant stalls have been put up in the festival with all sorts of things that you can shop for — from food to clothing, from home décor to books! Along with this, the extravagant affair will include various events like Kavi Sammelan, painting and singing competitions, Kids' Fashion Show, and more.
And, this year, what is different at the Uttarakhand Mahotsav in Lucknow is that 250+ artistes will together perform the state's 'Jhoda' dance and what do you know? The group might actually set a record to enter the Guinness Book of World Records!
Reportedly, performers from states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Nagpur and Patiala, are joining in to emblazon the Mahotsav's cultural programmes.
From warm shawls and bedsheets coming straight from Kashmir, dry fruits from Nainital, blazers and coats from Haridwar, to Banarsi sarees and books and idols of Kedarnath Dham, the fest has a lot to offer.
Stalls offer fire paan, hats, pickles, organic juices, spices. Sweets showcasing Uttarakhand's enriched customs and heritage, also are adorning the fair. Get things like Ghaziabad's portable geyser, eat bhelpuri and lots of delicious dishes, buy items used for prayers, and so much more, only at the Uttarakhand Mahotsav!
Oh, and, selfie points have also been set up for you to capture loads of memories with your family or friends. Take your gang to explore the Uttarakhand Mahotsav in Lucknow and choose from indigenous products to support the state's local artisans and artistes. And you never know when you'd get inspired or might just end up having a great time!
